The patio saga continues: This morning I ordered 6 yards of #57 gravel. The back of my lot is roughly 150 feet from the patio so this weekend I will pull a Robert Redford and move 15,000 pounds of stone from one side of the yard to the other by hand.

I can’t find the patio bedding material that I want. My pavers are 200 year old bricks I salvaged from my moms house so Id like to keep water moving through the bedding and base and out to prevent the soft bricks from absorbing too much. 

But doesn’t seem like anyone does open graded patios around here.

What I’m looking for is a #8 clean mix. If you’ve ever looked at a gradation chart for crushed stone, they’re not immediately intuitive. It shows how much of each size will pass through a specific sieve. So 100% at 1/2” actually means all the stone is smaller than 1/2”. 

I’ve called 2 quarries and 2 bulk hauler, still no luck!
