Lots of features in here similar to the crypto space: * "Giving fans a stake..." * An action "tier" ahead of Likes/RCs for the algo * This hype tier costs money from users, some going to creator * Leaderboard/points becomes the game itself * Small creator bonus Obviously wish it was 1) thinner platform, more creator friendly 2) cross-platform & permissionless 3) used crypto for payment... The internet is converging on a lot of these same social features but the incumbents have scale and distribution and frankly better products. I hope crypto gets a player at this scale (besides Telegram) in the next few years.

love to see it. and crypto can certainly make this better. do you think what holds crypto back from wider adoption are negative narratives or something else?

What's holding crypto back is: 1) Incumbents have no incentive to build these features on crypto rails. *Maybe* creator payments in stablecoins or chargeback prevention...but they'd rather have in-app payments+collectibles vs using crypto rails bc they'd be giving up control and margin. 2) Crypto-native alternatives have yet to get an order of magnitude within the distribution of incumbents. Crypto benefits of [1) thinner platform, more creator friendly 2) cross-platform & permissionless 3) used crypto for payment] aren't nearing as important as super engaging content and habitual users. 🙂 Telegram is likely the exception at scale. FC / @drakula / @rodeodotclub / @zora have the potential but need to grow into the scale.

thanks for this marvelous reply. agreed crypto products have not yet reached scale of significance, and why incumbents would not want to relinquish control and margins. do you think its up to crypto devs or creators to grow our piece of the pie?
