Went to Costco for supplies to prepare for potential (likely?) tariff shortages. I remarked to a checkout employee how empty it was given the possibility of disruptions. She looked at me like I was crazy, and in that moment, I did wonder if I was the one who was *in fact* crazy

In fairness to you, this is how it was in the early days of pandemic, and the crazies turned out to be right. But it was very hard to know what would be important. I don't think anyone guessed toilet paper.

Tbh I haven't given it much thought because people tend to have a lot of epistemic hubris about these kinds of things. Too unpredictable outside of just standard prep stuff. I'd pull the trigger on tech or appliance sooner if I was in the market maybe.
