We're proposing reducing the protocol fee from $3 to $2 as part of the Storage Extension FIP this week. 

The plan was to do this later, but it turns out it will be a lot easier to implement them together.

Is there going to be an option for new users after 28th of august to pay 3$ and get the two years? Or it’s strictly 2$ and a year.

Okay thanks for clearing that up. This change is to benefit existing users but won’t that be at the detriment of new users? Or am I getting it wrong?
