things people don't really know about recruiters but are kind of obvious when you think about it > 99% of the people we speak to won't get the job. Only 1 person gets the job. > we chase leads just like a sales rep/bdm would. Don't get shirty about recruiters contacting you if you are publicly advertising that you are hiring. 2+2= 4! > we get paid depending on the candidate's salary. A recruiter is never going to try and 'lowball' you. There's just no polite way to say 'I don't think you are worth (x) salary and neither will our client' > recruiters work for projects, not people. It's not our job to personally source opportunities for individuals. We partner with organisations, then hunt the best fit. It's never personal, it's business. > we're more likely to take a risk on a candidate we have a good relationship with. If we don't know you, and you don't have tangible, obvious experience, we aren't going to put you forwards for the love of the game

@ founders/hiring managers I promise, your marketing manager/community lead does not need 10k followers on X to be considered 'good'. Since when did this become such a dealbreaker? Last bull run nobody GAF. Engagement was super-organic, people focused on building/scaling brands, not themselves. This cycle the social media pretence is so toxic, everyone's botting followers to get seen as 'credible' and then having to answer awkward questions when they get >5% engagement on their posts.
