More than 3000 people have been killed by the recent earthquakes in Myanmar, and the death toll is likely to keep rising. I'm in touch with a relief fund accepting crypto donations - link below. I've asked if they can accept funds on L2s, and they will set it up if there is demand. Would Farcasters be willing to donate if they were able to receive funds on @base? https://quake.myanmarblockchainrelief.org/#donate

from the organizers: "funds received by Myanmar Trust UK, a registered UK charity (No. 1180966). Local responders verified and projects set up for funding (detailed info masked to prevent reprisal), MTUK funds projects on our platform from the donation wallet, funds disbursed to local orgs, proof of funding NFTs with services delivered and # of people reached are then connected back to impact dashboard (will be up as first projects are funded) for people to see how they donations were used" Re: the reprisal comment, part of what makes this a difficult situation is the military junta which runs the country will take control of aid entering Myanmar and redirect it to regions they control or want to reward. Crypto donations uniquely valuable in this context, but also come with risk for the people on the ground - which is why they can't be as public as we might expect.
