As far as I can tell the Icon of the Seas is basically fine; even on the environmental front (important!) I see no reason to believe it's worse per passenger than other ships.

A lot of opposition to it feels like elite snobbery against middle / upper-middle-class people.

Any good anti-Icon arguments I'm missing?

Are we doing Ethereum conferences on boats now? I used to run https://hackboat.org which was a security conference we would do on a boat. We haven't done it since the covids but are likely starting back up again soon. Boat conferences are rad 🎉⛴️
Environmental impact for cruise ships would be my biggest concern.
