It makes me laugh that the computer under my desk that I cannot hear is more powerful than this Cray supercomputer which was a fantasy machine when I was a kid.

I agree, it's so crazy that even a smartphone probably has more compute now! Cray was based about 15 minutes from where I grew up. We were always told that we had nukes pointed at us and if there was ever WW3, we would be one of the first hit!

The Pi is now 4.5 times faster than the Cray.
