It makes me laugh that the computer under my desk that I cannot hear is more powerful than this Cray supercomputer which was a fantasy machine when I was a kid.

Left: a 1976 Cray 1 supercomputer worth ~$40M in today's dollars, weighing nearly 5 tons and requiring a 115kW power supply.

Right: a Raspberry Pi worth $70, weighing 50g and drawing 5W of power.

The Pi is now 4.5 times faster than the Cray.
