we petered out about 3/4 the way thru season 1 of Tokyo Vice. can't remember why, I think maybe the actors were annoying. Honestly I've not seen much star trek, it might be about time to turn on that firehose

Lower Decks is a must-watch. It answers the question: "What if Galaxy Quest was animated and actually in the Star Trek universe?"

Dude imho absolutely do not start with Discovery or Lower Decks. Easiest way to get into trek (I say) is via Next Generation (Picard). Great story and strong pilot season. After TNG I suggest Deep Space 9 (Sisko), which takes a full season to get into, but will def captivate you. Some people like TOS (Kirk) but not me.
