dns_blocker.sh - it blocks all reddit requests on my laptop until the evening. my previous script sleep_enforcer.sh worked great for me, so I wanted to expand on the idea. (slightly longer tweet) Do modern day Americans not realize that it's been explicit US policy for _decades_ to be world police? Being world police is insanely advantageous and pays for itself. When the fed prints more $$$, who do you think gets diluted? Everyone holding US dollars. That's the ENTIRE WORLD. Only the US is in this position. If Argentina prints money, Argentinians get diluted. If Americans get money, the dilution is subsidized to the entire world. Giving this privilege up, and throwing out a century of political work, so that China can come in and fill in this position is, as Elon like to say, retarded. I am continuously flabbergasted at how much dust is in my robot vacuum's bin. If I only run it every few days, it gets full! Where is all the dust coming from? I live in a food air quality geo (Lisbon) and even run an air purifier!

it is extremely distasteful and disappointing for me to see, honestly. And I don't like the EU over-regulating so many things, but a social media platform with an arguable monopoly SHOULD be regulated to not actively steer public discussion through a biased algorithm.

I'm genuinely considering abandoning twitter. A content recommendation algorithm with a political agenda is a no-go for me.
