there is something subtly F’ed up about X/Twitter because there are no channels, and because hashtags are pointless, it sort of encourages a “mono-focus” account model you’re encouraged just to tweet about one area, get added lists on that area, and not talk about other stuff broken approach to social media

Centralization was the model. There is a difference between famous in certain circles versus generally famous, so it made a certain sense initially. But their model couldn't withstand the onslaught of bots, propagandists, and marketers. And now this maniac and his worse impulses. Innovation sorely needed.
