What is something that the "crypto community conventional wisdom" (as you perceive it) gets very badly wrong?

Spicier one for Farcaster: copying “best practices” is a good risk mitigation strategy. For something new, illegibility is a feature, and most “best practices” are filled with “process debt”. True of both legal structuring and “forking the EIP repo” 😄
