because humans are inherently social so you want to check on your friends, feel closer you may travel and want to see who you know in that place you may want to do something when bored and be entertained by seeing who moved on the map

i can't see the super cast map so can't comment on that viz! i'd tap @jpren.eth to weigh in for sure, but i think information is consumed dependent on the context it's given within so seeing locations in a map versus within a social feed is going to have a different resulting action potentially, depending on what actions are most easily available (are there any actions at all? can you message the user? can you easily find an event to attend together? what is your original intent on looking at that information?)
