You will need a Penumbra wallet to claim (we built a private chain from the ground up!), there are currently two options: - pcli, command line - prax wallet, chrome extension Instructions on each can be found on https://guide.penumbra.zone pcli is probably easier / less invasive for devs, prax is more fun to use

when you’re making transactions you mean? this could be that we just upgraded to the final versions of the proof statements, may not have propagated into the extension

like he said, a long and fascinating history, and you can repeat six times without it getting repetitive

haven’t posted on farcaster much since signing up about a year ago. aside from being busy i think what’s stopped me is that every time i opened the app, i mostly saw posts on fc about building stuff for fc but this can be an amazing foundation for a protocol

yeah, it is a difficult design problem to be sure, but it seems worth aiming for if possible. i want to spend more time understanding the current design before making a concrete suggestion

i don’t agree, i think this is only true without an end-to-end conception of the protocol design that excludes the devices people actually use from consideration… thereby forcing users to rely on hubs and making censorship easier in the long run

is it possible to build a farcaster hub that only maintains a subset of the network state? if so, is it possible to avoid having a distinction between “clients” and “hubs”?

also, in OMR, is the clue key tied to the detection parameters at all? can the false positive rate be controlled independently of the clue keys?

hmm, can an attacker do anything by interfering with the address/clue key resolution? would it make sense to have something like a merklized transparency log of the clue keys? or, if the clue keys are subordinate to the address, can they be signed by the address and verified that way?

neat, what’s the basic shape of the integration? are clues going to be bundled into transactions, or just posted to a separate scanning layer? how does the address <> clue key lookup work?

… so you have to build a way to synchronize a filtered version of the state on every client, so the clients local copy has only the subset that they actually care about
