every couple of months i take a day and spend a few hours offloading videos and photos from my iphone to my plex server that I've taken of my fam into folders / subfolders (month, year, just stuff like that)

so nice to know these things are backed up + awesome to be able to view them at any time on tv

Personal server for media back up is so essential with kids. Like you say, ability to watch on the bigger screens and backup is so crucial.
