Denmark intends to introduce a tax on unrealized profits from cryptocurrencies from January 1, 2026. Crypto owners will be required to pay a tax of 42% of the annual change in the value of their crypto assets, even if they have not sold their assets. This tax will apply to all crypto acquired since January 2009, i.e. since the emergence of Bitcoin.

Today I watched the lecture on primary-backup replication. Reviewed the pros and cons of using a direct state transfer compared to a replicated state machine and discussed various failure modes. Went through a detailed example of VMware's Fault Tolerance (FT) mechanism, which employs deterministic replay to synchronize a primary virtual machine with its backup.
