Does it matter who or what creates music if it elicits a positive emotional response? Why or why not?

Someone (Zane L or Rick R ?) defined music as something that elicits or enhances our emotions. Any kinds of emotion. Music can do this without context. However I believe that increased context about the music (creator/process/significance) both lowers the floor and raises the ceiling for the impact music can have.

Either of them could have said that for sure. I like your floor / ceiling framing of it. What does "impact" mean when it comes to music? Are you thinking about it as a music fanatic? On culture?
