North America's lead in cryptocurrency developer share is overtaken by Asia. North America's developer share has fallen dramatically, from 44% in 2015 to 24% in 2024. Meanwhile, Asia's share climbed from 13% to 32%. For the first time, Asia is the number one continent for crypto talent.

The United States remains the top continent for cryptocurrency developers by country. While cryptocurrencies consider themselves based in California and New York, 64% of developers live outside of these traditional technology centers.
