Soneium: Soneium is an ethereum L2 launched by tech giant Sony, which is built primarily on the Op Stack and will also join Optimism's Superchain network. From the limited information available, the overall architecture is expected to be not much different from Optimism, with DA relying mainly on the main Ether network, but indexing is perhaps mainly controlled by the project team, and details such as execution and settlement are not yet clear. Currently after more than half a month of development, the eco-project has taken shape with more than 60+ projects, and the collaborative applications will focus on entertainment, Web3 games and NFT services. In terms of project vision, the main goal is to utilize Sony's global distribution channels and capabilities in We2 to bridge Web2 and Web3, while it is relatively clear that Soneium plans to develop a Story Protocal-like feature to protect creators' intellectual property rights.

North America's lead in cryptocurrency developer share is overtaken by Asia. North America's developer share has fallen dramatically, from 44% in 2015 to 24% in 2024. Meanwhile, Asia's share climbed from 13% to 32%. For the first time, Asia is the number one continent for crypto talent. The United States remains the top continent for cryptocurrency developers by country. Percentage of cryptocurrency developers by country: #1 U.S.: 18.8%; #2 India: 11.8%; #3 U.K.: 4.2%. 81% of cryptocurrency developers live outside of the U.S., which is a matter of national security as well as a loss of innovation for the U.S. Zooming in on the U.S.: How do the U.S. states stack up? While cryptocurrencies consider themselves based in California and New York, 64% of developers live outside of these traditional technology centers. For policymakers, this is an opportunity to create jobs and wealth.

The U.S. Department of Justice has announced that Liu Zhou, the founder of MyTrade, has pleaded guilty, becoming the first party to plead guilty in a recent market manipulation investigation of several cryptocurrency exchanges, where he admitted to manipulating the market by making fraudulent trades on multiple cryptocurrency exchanges.
