Still going, though I probably won’t finish this story this year, haha. After visiting a restricted area, bribing our way in, and chilling on an island, we headed back. It was already getting dark. The plan was to disembark at the village of Bayahibe, hop on a party bus, and get the tourists back to their hotel.
We got to shore, and I quickly found our ride and tried to get everyone on board... but then, out of nowhere, they all needed to use the bathroom.
Bayahibe isn’t a very big place (although it looks bigger on the map than I remember it being, haha). There’s just one road leading into the village. There’s a large parking lot for tourist buses, lined with blue porta-potties (back then, there was no proper restroom yet, but they were building one). Beyond the bathrooms, the road runs along the beach and basically ends in a dead end. There’s also a cute green building with a veranda and a rocking chair.
All the other buses had left, it got dark, and my tourists had vanished... 6 replies
