If a major fiat player (lets say Chase) was to say all all of us will be unable to use our credit cards for upto 8 hours, I feel like we would all be touting that as a major benefit of crypto.

I think its ok to expect better from a company, especially if you admire it am want it to do well :)

It’s very acceptable for the centralized part of their business.

I don't think being in an industry based on decentralization and performing updates on centralized, non-network products are mutually exclusive.
