Zed's answer to Cursor Composer is coming, and coming fast! They're building their own take on agentic editing, following their recent release of their own in house tab completion called "zeta" This includes supporting MCP (model context protocol) tools too! Fastest way to try out MCP with Zed is with skeet.build, which already supports integration from day 0.

I don't get skeet is. Is it just a connector to MCP? If so why can't it be offline?

we host MCP servers for dev tools, so all you have to do is oauth to start using these tools in any AI product that supports MCP (Claude, Cursor, Zed, Windsurf, and more) We also support some tools locally, like postgres, but others are wrapping online APIs so it wouldn't make sense to be offline.
