People talk a lot about secularization of Christianity that then influences everything around us without us realizing.

But apocalypse isn’t one of them. These Christian end of world panics happened all the time, a big one every 100-200 years.

I think we still retain that mentality without the religious aspect of it

Something fascinating I learned recently is that the very concept of secularism comes from Christianity. 

I got into watching these lectures by the British historian Tom Holland and it gave me a whole new appreciation for Christian history.

his absolute dog shite takes on islam and islamic history makes me doubt his abilities you know.

He made a lot of outlandish claims about islamic history, such as there is no historical evidence in the seventh century on the origins of Islam, completely rejects its oral tradition and also cites lack of textual evidence, which is not true. Its really odd.

I mostly have listened to his lectures on Christianity. Haven’t heard him speak much about Judaism which is what I’d know best to assess him. What are his most notable bad takes on Islam?
