Bearish on YCs turn to the military industrial complex. It basically means that they've given up on trying to create 0-to-1 paradigm shifting products and would rather sucks on the pentagon's teat. https://x.com/ycombinator/status/1832131654447722545?t=PJszKEEX5MHwnMDLGGEOfQ&s=19

Almost all major historical innovation, and practically the entire internet - from the network infrastructure to hardware and software - originated from early military technology. The last decade's wave of innovation not stemming from military tech is a massive departure from the norm. What is bearish is how Silicon Valley has gone anti military tech, essentially turning their backs on the foundation that gave them the freedom to pursue social technologies.

Tech comes from the military so why not take advantage of the subsidies they provide.

Think we'll see a lot of 0-1 paradigm shifting products in defense and hardware more generally in the coming decade. Not sure the 17th enterprise SaaS CRM tool is paradigm shifting?
