Been low key obsessed with this song. The original composition is by Purandara Dasa, the father of Carnatic music. https://youtu.be/y0uZABib60g?si=QT---lxRryxFyAcj

Very nice composition! I’m intrigued by Carnatic music 😍 I’ve learned Hindustani classical and I know there’s some similarities but I just it too difficult to sing just the basic alankar right in Carnatic music

So cool! When can we expect to hear you sing? I love Hindustani music too, just been more exposed to and hence inclined to Carnatic music. I believe ragas there are more strict and Hindustani ones are more free flowing and open to interpretation.

I’ve shared a few of my riyaaz clips on this app and have been meaning to post more classical music. I’ve just been hesitant, wondering if people would enjoy it since it’s such a niche space. But it’s something close to my heart, and I think it’s time I start sharing more of it 😀 so I’d say pretty soon you’ll be able to hear me sing 😄 Also just came across a cast a couple days ago that someone hosts open mic here. That’d be cool to jam with other musicians in this space. Are you classically trained in Carnatic music?

Yes pls! Looking forward to it. I’m only a bathroom singer and not trained in Carnatic music at all (I used to play the piano, western classical but that feels like a lifetime ago). Would definitely listen to you and other fellow singers jam :)
