Lexus has kicked off its electric car program with the introduction of a new generation of its best-selling SUV, the NX. The new plan calls for 20 new models to be launched over the next five years, half of which will be electric. The NX is the first model in the new lineup. For the first time, the Japanese manufacturer has equipped the car with a hybrid-electric motor that can travel up to 58 kilometers on battery power alone. Other technical parts of the car are taken from the Toyota RAV4. Lexus has also equipped the NX with new technologies that will be used in other models of the company over time.
