Yes except this happened long before LLMs hahaha

Interesting point, didn’t know this. Looks similar to what’s happened with LLMs where most vendors use an OpenAI compatible format to drive adoption

Following this, an LLM client built around the OpenAI API feels in the wheel house too but that is a bit more of a leap.
