"post after post of nothing" is exactly why social incentives are so dangerous - they are incredibly effective for generating *volume*, but algorithms can only approximate what "good" volume really is so, eventually people find a meta of minimum input -> max incentive reward, and the ecosystem goes sideways. as a monetized twitter guy, agree with your take on their algo, and the way you lay this out. channels are amazing and i love the idea, the whole platform really, but it seems like no matter what you go about doing, you get people who game the system at the lowest denominator. yup! lowest common denominator content is a massive struggle for platforms to reckon with, and some do it better than others for sure to youtube's credit, i think they probably do it best right now - been fulltime there for a decade and think they have refined their systems VERY well at this point
