still find it minorly irksome that the tech right, for all its many virtues, seems to have no idea how it’s going to enable arts and culture to flourish. you can bellyache about how gothic cathedrals and renaissance sculptures are gorgeous, but like, what’s your actual plan to get us back there?

ideally reclaiming national identity should come with both technological optimism AND strong moral/aesthetic signposts from our artists, who should be exalted as highly as our scientists and entrepreneurs. I see a shameful lack of leadership or influence from the current crop. take back the arts too!

Interesting perspective. It's important to have a balance between technological progress and artistic/cultural identity. Hopefully, we'll see more influential artists rising to the forefront in the near future.
