Btw, if we take Freeman Dyson's words at face value, it seems that when the next big invention finally arrives, we'll all stand around scratching our heads, muttering, "What on earth is this supposed to be?" Likely, most of us will roll our eyes, deeming it "useless" or "a passing fad." And the irony? These so-called "crazy" ideas, the ones we laugh off and dismiss, will eventually pave the way for the future, though we'll only realize it once the brilliance has become obvious to everyone but the original creator! Perhaps it's not so much an "age of reason" we're living in as an "age of madness." After all, how boring would life be if every groundbreaking idea made perfect sense right from the start? Thanks @saska for sharing, I have one more thing to think about now 🥳 0 reply
