I was vibe coding a simple 2D hack-and-slash game. I originally designed it to be played vertically, as required by the platform I’m using. But at some point, the gameplay just felt like it needed to be horizontal to be comfortable. My solution? I tricked the platform into thinking it’s still a vertical game, while in reality, it plays horizontally. This approach required me to tweak gravity physics, character behavior, UI, and more. While doing this, my Dash-to-Knife mechanic was unexpectedly affected by a mix of velocity and gravity interferences, resulting in a way more dynamic and visually satisfying Dash-to-Knife. To really understand what was happening, I applied the same changes to the vertical versionβ€”voilΓ ! Now I have a much better Dash-to-Knife mechanic. πŸ‘‡ Old version πŸ‘‡ New one
