This is how I run a ref check. 
@stevef.eth you remember that guy @farokh ? Idk if he looks at developers.apple.com to see what they require or even has interest but I found what I might qualify as a "willing and able bodied developer who wants to try something new". 
I don't know this guy so I probably wouldn't give him root access but I hope it helps.
