📌 $OM How did it come about? $OM is the token on the Mantra Chain. Mantra was founded in Hong Kong in 2020 by John Patrick Mullin, who graduated from Tongji University. Mantra has raised a total of US$11 million, led by people from the Middle East, with the rest being mainly Chinese VCs. $OM 's TGE was first launched on Ethereum as an ERC20 token in August 2020. $OM was originally launched as a DeFi project and is the dApp token of MANTRA with a supply cap of 888,888,888.

In September 2022, Mantra is preparing to create its own chain. In February 2024, $OM decided to be the official token of Mantra Chain. On October 10, 2024, Mantra Chain mainnet was released. As of December 17, 2024, 37.2m $OM have been bridged from the EVM to the Mantra mainnet. However, the token cap has doubled to 1,777,777,776. Half of the tokens have been minted on the Mantra mainnet, and the project can mint more tokens to increase the cap. Technically speaking, Mantra is a layer-one blockchain based on Cosmos, using the consensus algorithm of POS staking (officially called POS, but I think it is more like DPOS), which is specially designed for RWA on-chain.

Mantra calls itself a permissionless blockchain for RWA for permissioned applications. How do you understand such a confusing sentence? We know that the reason why RWA cannot be put on the chain on a large scale for the time being is "compliance", and Mantra's smart contract module (program code) does not embed compliance at the consensus level (bottom layer of the blockchain), but implements flexible and powerful permissions at the application layer (upper layer of the blockchain) as needed. Users can solve all RWA compliance issues when writing smart contract programs on the chain. Therefore, RWA can more easily handle its own compliance and flexibility on Mantra Chain.

📌 Main functions provided by Mantra Chain 1. DID function (know who the user is) That is the function of digital identity. When registering each DID, the user must bind the address of the Mantra wallet with his or her real information. After binding, a special NFT will be sent to the user. 2. Guard module (differentiate users by permissions and levels) The Guard module, in conjunction with DID, can resolve user permissions and levels to gain access to certain special features of the application. 3. Token service (MTS, RWA tokenization) MTS is the main function of Mantra tokenization, including the creation, management, mint, burn, freeze, distribution, confiscation and other functions of tokens.
