In September 2022, Mantra is preparing to create its own chain.

In February 2024, $OM decided to be the official token of Mantra Chain.

On October 10, 2024, Mantra Chain mainnet was released.

As of December 17, 2024, 37.2m $OM have been bridged from the EVM to the Mantra mainnet. However, the token cap has doubled to 1,777,777,776. Half of the tokens have been minted on the Mantra mainnet, and the project can mint more tokens to increase the cap.

Technically speaking, Mantra is a layer-one blockchain based on Cosmos, using the consensus algorithm of POS staking (officially called POS, but I think it is more like DPOS), which is specially designed for RWA on-chain.
