The only point of concern to me is whether applying these filtering options too early might deter newcomers from joining 

Lens has had a similar issues with attracting "super followers" or "paid collects" even though the price was a few MATIC.

I think it's a really healthy next step as a tool in the wider toolkit as a channel operator.

I don't think you should need a pass for *all* channels but feels perfectly logical and a great way to moderate spam.

I would 100% add a filter to post in /coop-recs if it existed!
