I wonder what UN votes would look like if they were secret ballot. Each country chooses their representative, but from that point on it's up to each representative and their own conscience.

Secret ballots are designed to make paying for votes pointless. If you could see how people voted you could pay them if they voted for your candidate When secret you have no way of knowing if they did or not

i’m not sure that uncertainty has ever been a foolproof way to stop bribery. yes, it’s an uncertain payoff. but when the stakes are high, the uncertain benefit is still there.
