By comparison my parents had me at 21 and I was out of the house by the time they were 40

So I had lots of time with them when they had the most energy, and now they’re living a great life still youngish (in their 50s) and enjoying time with their grandkids

there's something to that, and certainly that would have been hard for us since my wife and i both work and so do my parents so they can't be the kind of help that grandparents used to be

otoh, i don't have a ton of money now either

What about lack of monies at younger ages?
