honestly think there's a generational opportunity coming up for the Chinese LVMH to come out of this tariff war. alongside the cheap knockoffs there's been decades of skill, craft, and human capital compounding in China. these mfgs going direct are just the first sign. there will be designers with unique POVs that do the same.

Maybe, but I’m skeptical. For every glimpse of originality, there’s still a tidal wave of copycat culture. I’ve watched small brands send designs overseas, only to have near-identical knockoffs flood Temu weeks later. Decades of manufacturing skill mean nothing if IP theft keeps being the business model

pretty much agree, thats definitely the dominant culture. but opportunity is there for a contrarian designer
