⚡️ Palestine puts pressure on Israel through the UN — Bild

Palestine wants to increase pressure on Israel to withdraw its troops from the Gaza Strip with a new resolution to be announced at the UN General Assembly. 

Immediately a number of states demanded to convene a meeting of the largest UN body to vote on the resolution aimed at forcing the implementation of the legal opinion of the UN Supreme Court on the Middle East conflict. This could happen as early as September 17. 

In July, the UN International Court of Justice in The Hague issued a legal opinion stating that the occupation of Palestinian territories is illegal and must end as soon as possible.
