One of my strongest held beliefs after a year of building dev tools is the user (developers) almost never knows what’s best for them. The easy route with the most intuitive syntax rarely scales and lets you shoot yourself in the foot all the time. Things like Rust built their entire reputation on this fact but somehow devs still cry for things to be easier NOW with no thought for how much hell it will be when they have 10,000 users finding every possible buggy edge case in their app.

so rust is intuitive but has lots of edge cases? I don't read or write rust, so I don't know. just curious.

No the opposite, Rust is very difficult to write because it forces you to write safe, maintainable code that won’t hurt you later.

Ah. But ppl love rust. So what's difficult to write has turned out to being loved and net good for them. I wonder if ppl would feel the same about contracts written outside solidity that have safety first properties built in.
