who in the world thinks two pickles on a sandwich this big is acceptable also v important rule in kitchens - you rarely serve an even amount of something, almost always odd unless it’s an appetizer meant to be shared !!

it’s primarily about presentation - odd numbers create asymmetry (more visual interest) and also create a central focal point on the dish which in some cases can make the food appear more abundant and appealing compared to symmetrical presentations also partly tradition - some chefs believe odd numbers are luckier :) check the movement and focal points in these dishes
