well the bear case IMO is an increase in immersive digital experiences that replace the "need" for physical travel. escape mentally without moving physically. I don't think it will happen within 5 years (hopefully never), but I could see an argument for it

i’d separate short-distance travel for unique events from long-distance travel (eg vacation) a digital experience could replace the “need” for attending your favorite sporting event, like getting a front-row VR seat instead i doubt most people will never visit tokyo just cuz they *could* experience it digitally
