actually 2 websites - both bridges to L2s I get it but also they were perfectly legit and if there's only 1 "official" frontend allowed for a smart contract, what's the point?

not sure, these 2 aren't a big deal so I'm not going to fight it but I imagine the domains are just blacklisted yea 🤷‍♂️

I think a domain can be banned at multiple levels - TLD operator, registrar, DNS provider - this one seems from the registrar (which also happens to be the DNS provider)

Are you able to transfer the domains out of Namecheap? Would that make a difference?

That’s wild, first time I’m seeing this, thanks for sharing. Makes me curious about what exactly triggered the suspensions. No actual explanation from Namecheap I assume?

I think somebody must have reported them (likely spam protection @ Coinbase, I’m more surprised about the Zora one tbh) “Please be informed that the domain has been permanently null-routed/placed on Hold and locked due to a violation of our Universal Terms of Service Agreement.”

(the quote is from namecheap btw if it wasn’t clear, not one of the related brands)

I could see them doing this as an attempt to curb phishing. Unfortunate that it keeps legit alternative frontends from existing but I’d guess there are fewer of those than phishing.

They (e.g. Coinbase) usually just hire some company for brand protection stuff. These hired guys are often clueless about crypto and they just file ban orders for anything that uses the brand name they are hired to protect, without any nuance.
