The DV staking effort is started by a group of people coming together and going through a cluster creation and Distributed Key Generation ceremony. 9/10 of the members are already together and ready to roll, so if you join, it should be a smooth process to get started. DC me and let’s talk more if you want! 🤝

Just the hardware requirements for a full node, as specified by Superphiz in his response to the other person in this thread. The validator is collectively ran by 10 people. 7/10 threshold. So if 3 people are offline and cannot immediately come back to their computer, the validator still runs and collects rewards 😎

Hope that answers your questions in regards to the purpose of DV staking on the community level @grasponcrypto. If you have anymore, let us know. We have 9 other OG stakers/Ethereum community members like @kody.eth in the cluster who care about decentralization and ready to make this happen 💪

I personally view the act of using your own ETH to stake from home, especially in a DV cluster, as a public good for Ethereum and I don’t see this going unnoticed by the Ethereum community in the future. Squad stakers like @superphiz.eth @kody.eth are the backbone of decentralization for Ethereum.

Ideally, everyone stakes from home and makes Ethereum decentralized as possible. Although that is not the case today, DVT allows more and more people to stake directly from home in groups, in a safer, more fault tolerant manner with less ETH required. This is ideally the future of ETH staking: community-based.

The person who dropped out did not lose any of their Ether. Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Good questions! Excellent answers by @superphiz.eth. Also wanted to add that when you are part of an Obol DV community cluster and staking your own ETH, you are part of the “squadstaking” movement and contributing to the decentralization of Ethereum in one of the most direct ways possible today.

Is there a mourning ceremony for people who did not connect an ETH address to Farcaster before the $Degen airdop but have been using Farcaster for a few months now?

Smoothly.money hit 50 subscribers! Many of the solo stakers who joined the pool are genesis validators. Feeling very fortunate to have the support of that cohort!
