Correction on something we said on Bankless about Railgun. In a Bankless Rollup on May 31st we briefly discussed the privacy protocol Railgun and said the following: "It sounds like North Korea has discovered Railgun...and it seems that Lazarus group has discovered Railgun and are using Railgun." The Railgun team reached out to us to correct the record saying the following. "[Bankless mentioned] that North Korea currently uses RAILGUN. This is not true as the RAILGUN smart contracts filter out transactions from OFAC sanctioned entities through a system known as private proofs of innocence. All funds entering RAILGUN have to generate a zero-knowledge proof that they are not on known lists of bad activity (including the OFAC list amongst others) and there is also a 1 hour waiting period as an extra safeguard. Notably, these controls are why Vitalik felt comfortable posting about RAILGUN. Good correction. Posting publicly for posterity. https://docs.railgun.org/wiki/assurance/private-proofs-of-innocence

Good clarification. Where did you hear that they were using it? Also couldn’t Lazarus just use a new address?

Agreed. Seems disingenuous to claim this without context or source ?
