The South had withstood the northern attack, but the losses were heavy. Many soldiers had fallen, and buildings lay in ruins, still smoldering from the assault. Gambino walked through the damaged streets, weary and heartbroken.

He made his way back to the incubation chamber, fearing for his young dragon. As he entered, relief washed over him. Raul sat beside the baby Thundrax, who was safe and calm.

"He's alright," Raul said softly.

Gambino nodded, but the exhaustion of battle finally overtook him. His legs gave out, and he collapsed to the floor, unable to fight the weariness any longer.
