If it’s a free RSVP and during regular week, I would aim for 3x capacity (without +1s) If it’s during a conference, I would aim for 5x -8x capacity.

GM. Anyone else working in the generative art space and also planning to be at ETH Denver?

The Nextjs conference starts in 30 minutes. It hasn’t even started yet, and I’ve already learned so much more about front-end design. They open-sourced their R&D and best practices for creating the 3D WebGL shader they used on their registration site. https://bit.ly/3zdEKOG https://i.imgur.com/kLHXzRl.jpg

I’ve been looking into xstate. The separation of business logic into state machines seems like it could be a good pattern. Trying to decide if I’m ok with the boilerplate.

I might need smaller glasses for VR.. the lenses on one of my quest 1s got scratched pretty badly from my glasses (even w the extender). Will see how that goes w the pro too.

My Quests are the only headsets I bought that haven’t wound up in drawers :)

Will be interesting to try apps like Immersed VR to spawn virtual monitors. I usually wear my glasses when I am doing detail computer work like 3d design or programming on a regular screen, but I don’t wear my glasses when I use a headset.

I ordered from Best Buy, and they have a pretty generous return policy. That said, I’m thinking about it more from the perspective as a developer than as a consumer. This will also be the 7th generation of VR headset I’ve bought.

I will report back on 10/25 :) What I am really curious about is the full-color, full field-of-view augmented reality pass through. The online demos impressed me.

You might like Rainbow's End by Vernor Vinge too. Great world-building of a possible AR/connected future.
