How do channel owners balance curation and monetization? Would asking users to pay a certain amount per month to have their casts appear in the main channel feed solve the spam problem? What should be done if someone who has paid for a monthly /hypersub begins to spam the main feed? cc @nonlinear.eth @jtgi

>Would asking users to pay a certain amount..? i dont think it solves the spam problem, just cuts down on it >What should be done if someone who has paid for a monthly begins to..? they get hidden or banned. easy to refund onchain creating a cozy corner will still require a lot of work imo, thats what the 31% is for

The ability to hide a cast is no longer on the table. Im guessing /automod would need to add a new blacklist feature that would not like casts by someone who has the NFT. Channel owner can then also do the onchain refund for the hypersub. Sounds like it can work, but may also become chaotic

hiding is actually what happens by default. in order to be displayed in the main feed a cast must be "boosted" (liked) by the moderator or curator https://warpcast.notion.site/Public-v2-Decentralized-Channels-535ffce48c95413ea81bc89d6170fd99

I think any spammer should envisage a sort of a shadowban and loss of funds' perks in advance. in my experience, many such figures already see this as a disposable opportunity cost. Channel owners just should make it clear.
