Anyone have a good solution for backing up gmail history? I want to be prepared for the worst. 

Requirements:
- Can backup to Dropbox
- Everything stays encrypted
- App's permissions are limited to just reading (every service I've found asks for edit & delete)

It's been a long time since I've done it but I believe I setup the account in Apple Mail using IMAP and then copied the mbox file to back it up once it was all synced up. This doesn't seem to meet your needs exactly but might be an intermediate step to moving it to Dropbox, etc.
